Genus Callogobius


Summary:
A large genus of cryptic gobies characterized by having distinctive raised ridges of papillae in horizontal and vertical rows on the head.
Species inhabit shallow marine and sometimes estuarine environments, including coral and rocky reefs, rubble habitats, tidepools and mangrove-lined streams.
