Genus Gnathanacanthus


Summary:

A monotypic and endemic family found in coastal waters of southern Australia. The genus was described by Bleeker in 1855, with Gnathanacanthus goetzeei, described from a specimen collected in the Derwent River, Tasmania, as the type species of the genus.
