Summary:
A small blenny with mottled brownish bands along the upper sides, a brown spot on the pectoral-fin base, a dark broken stripe through the eye to the tail, whitish lower sides, and iridescent pale blue spots on the lower head.

Distribution |
Dirk Hartog Island to the Monte Bello Islands, Western Australia, the southern Great Barrier Reef and the Lord Howe Province in the Tasman Sea. Elsewhere the species occurs in the western-central Pacific. Inhabits the surge channel zone on exposed reefs in depths to 15 m. |

Features |
Dorsal fin XII, 11-13; Anal fin II, 12-13. Differs from the blenny genus Entomacrodus in having scale-like flaps on anterior portion of lateral line, fewer dorsal and anal finrays, and more pectoral fin elements. Nasal, supraorbital and nuchal cirri simple and short. Both sexes without occipital crest. |

The species is "Named for my friend. Dr. Frank H. Talbot, who participated in the collection of the specimens, and who organized the expedition that made the collections possible." |
