Summary:

A large trevally with a tapered snout, electric blue second dorsal, anal and caudal fins and numerous blue and black spots on the sides.

Distribution

Recorded in Austtralia from Western North West Cape, Rowley Shoals, Scott/Seringapatam Reefs, Ashmore and Cartier Islands, WA, and NE of Darwin, NT, to Coila Lake, NSW; also at Norfolk Island, Lord Howe Island, Christmas Island, Cocos (Keeling) Island. Elsewhere, widespread in the tropical, Indo-Pacific.

Inhabits deeper lagoon and outer reefs, entering channels and shallower areas to feed.
