Distribution

North West Cape to Kendrew Island, Western Australia. Elsewhere the species occurs in the tropical Seychelles and Comoros in the western Indian Ocean, to the Line and Tuamoto Islands in the central Pacific, north to southern Japan, south to the Great Barrier Reef, and throughout Micronesia.
