Bernier Island, Western Australia, and north of Wessel Island, Northern Territory, and in the Gulf of Carpentaria. the species may also occur on the Northwest Shelf, Western Australia. The species occurs elsewhere in the tropical, west Pacific. |

Dorsal fin 68-70; Anal fin 60-64; Pectoral fin 19; Vertebrae 16 + 53. Spines absent from margin of preoperculum, cheeks without scales. |
