Summary:
A slender pale to brownish blenny with irregular diagonal brown bands and fine white lines on the mid to lower sides, brown spots and dashes along the back, wavy white vertical lines on the head and a pale-rimmed dark spot just behind the eye.

Distribution |
Rockingham, south Western Australia, around the tropical north, to at least One Tree Island, Queensland. Elsewhere the species occurs in the tropical, west Pacific. Germain's Blenny is common and widespread, inhabiting crevices on shallow reefs, tide pools and stream mouths. |

Features |
Dorsal fin XII-XIV, 18-23; Anal fin II, 21-26. Body depth about 5.8 in SL; dorsal fin with a slight notch between spinous and soft parts; 3 mandibular pores on each side; gill opening extending from just above pectoral-fin base to opposite 6th pectoral-fin ray; head crest and cirri absent; last dorsal and anal-fin rays attached by membrane to caudal fin. |
