Distribution

Cocos (Keeling) Islands and Christmas Island in the eastern Indian Ocean within the Australian EEZ.
Inhabits rocky intertidal shorelines, benches, outer reef flats, and reef margins subject to some degree of wave action.

Species Citation

Salarias caudofasciatus Regan 1909, Proc. Zool. Soc. Lond. 1909: 405, pl. 66 (fig. 3). Type locality: Christmas Island.
