Distribution

Known from Macquarie Island and Heard Island, and recorded from Adelie Land and The Ross Sea; most likely widespread in Australia's Antarctic Territory. Elsewhere the species occurs in the Southern Ocean, circum-Antarctic.

Features

Dorsal fin IV-VI, 35-38; Anal fin 26-30. Interorbital space wide, scales lacking below the eye.
