Summary:
A tan to greyish shrimpgoby with 8-10 brown bars along sides, including several broad darker bars separated by yellowish interspaces, bluish to whitish spots on the head, and a small black spot near the top front margin of the dorsal fin, and a black streak near the upper/outer margin of the caudal fin.

Distribution

Off Carnarvon, Western Australia, around the tropical north, to Moreton Bay, Queensland. Elsewhere the species is known from Indonesia and the Philippines. Inhabits silty inshore reefs at depths of 2-10 m.

Features

Dorsal fin VI-VII, 10; Anal fin I, 10; Pectoral fin 18; Longitudinal scale series 85. 
Greatest body depth 5.1-5.4 in SL; pelvic fins united, frenum present; scales absent from head; caudal fin lanceolate, longer than head.

Etymology

The species is named cebuanus for the type locality, Cebu in the Philippines.
