Distribution	Occurs on the northern part of the Great Barrier Reef to off Cairns, Queensland. The species occurs elsewhere in the tropical Indo-west Pacific.
Feeding	Small groups feed on zooplankton well above the bottom.
Species Citation	Axinurus minor Smith, 1966, Ichthyol. Bull. 32: 640, fig. 1a. Type locality: Pinda Reef, Mozambique.
