Summary:
A pale grey damselfish with blue iris, blue spots and lines on the cheek and gill cover, vertical blue streaks on the body scales, and a yellowish tail with dusky bar on the base.

Distribution

Offshore reefs of north Western Australia, Ashmore Reef, Timor Sea, the Great Barrier Reef, Queensland, and reefs in the Coral Sea. Elsewhere the species occurs in the tropical west Pacific. 
Usually solitary on steep outer reef slopes and in deep lagoons below 10 m.
