Summary:
A golden to silvery bullseye with a greyish back, distinct black tips on the dorsal and anal fins and a black anal-fin margin. The dark fin tips on the similar Bronze Bullseye, Pempheris analis, are less distinct.

Distribution

Endemic to eastern Australia, from Hervey Bay, Queensland, to at least Montague Island, New South Wales. This nocturnal species inhabits coastal reefs, sheltering in caves and under ledges during the day.
