Distribution

Great Australian Bight, South Australia, at depths of 4620-4750 m. Although rare, the  species is widespread in the Atlantic Ocean.

Species Citation

Chalinura profundicola Nybelin 1957, Repts Swedish Deep-Sea Exped. 1947-1948 2 (Zool.) (3) (20): 268, Pls. 2 (figs. 1-5), 3 (figs. 5-8). Type locality: North Atlantic, 22°31'N, 23°28'W to 22°41'N, 23°10'W, station 319, depth 4872-4867 m.
