Genus Plagiogeneion
Summary:
Two of the 5 currently recognized species in this Southern Hemisphere genus are recorded from Australia. These are slightly compressed fishes of moderate depth (28-36% SL) with only a low notch in the margin of the dorsal fin separating the spines and rays and the last rays of the dorsal and anal fins not longer than preceding rays.
