Genus Pseudogobius

Summary:
A diverse group of gobies found in habitats ranging from mangroves, estuaries and lagoons to lowland streams above tidal influence. Species occur throughout the tropical to warm temperate Indo-west Pacific, in estuarine to fresh waters. They are often abundant, found over muddy to sandy substrates, in seagrass beds, rocky areas and in mangroves, and appear to be tolerant of a wide range of environmental conditions (Larson & Hammer 2021).
