Summary:
Etymology: Danacetichthys is a combination of Dana, the Danish research vessel, and the Greek cetus (ketos) (= whale) and ichthys (= fish), in reference to the fine early collection of 33 whalefishes from the Dana Expeditions now at the University of Copenhagen.
