Genus Nectamia


Summary:
A small cardinalfish genus with 13 pectoral-fin rays, eight anal-fin rays, high first arch total gill-raker counts (24–31), developed gill rakers on second arch, black stomach and intestine, three supraneurals, two supernumerary spines on the first dorsal pterygiophore, eight visible dorsal spines, a pair of slender uroneurals, three epurals, five free hypurals, forked caudal fin, all scales ctenoid and a relatively simple pored scale architecture on the lateral-line scales (Fraser 2008).
