Distribution

Lord Howe Island and Norfolk Island in the Tasman Sea. Elsewhere the species occurs in southern Oceania (Kermadec Islands to Easter Island). Inhabits rocky, gravel and coarse, sandy substrates near rocky outcrops and boulder fields, as well as sand patches in shallow depressions on vertical rock walls.
