Summary:
A dark brown shrimpgoby with a white back, lips, snout and head, and a series of dark saddles crossing the back. Saddled shrimpgobies share burrows with alpheid shrimps.

Distribution |
Known from Lizard Island to Wangetti Beach, Queensland. Elsewhere the species occurs in the tropical, west-central Pacific. Inhabits open sandy and fine rubble areas on sheltered protected reefs - sharing burrows with alpheid shrimps. |

Dorsal fin VI-VII, 10-11; Anal fin I, 9-10; Pectoral fin 16-17; Longitudinal scale series 90. Greatest body depth 5.2-6.6 in SL; caudal fin rounded, longer than head; pelvic fins united, frenum present; head naked. |
