Summary:
Males are blackish above with pale blue dots, shading gradually to pale yellowish green, with a light blue line on each scale, and the upper half of head dark reddish with dark-edged blue bands radiating from the eye. Females black with blue spots above, becoming pale yellowish on the sides and white below, with a large black ocellus on the gill cover and a broad black stripe on the anal fin.
