Summary:

The least known of the six species in this genus, the Longtail Weed Whiting has the body form of the Longray Weed Whiting with a longer and more slender caudal peduncle, as well as the scales on top of the head reaching forward to just above the middle of the eyes rather than to or in advance of the front of the eyes. This is a small species, which probably doesn't attain a length much greater than 13 cm total length.

The Longtail Weed Whiting is only known from rather high energy coastal habitats with dominant stands of macroalgae where diving is difficult.
