Distribution

Recorded in Australia from Lindeman Island to Moreton Bay, QLD. Occurs elsewhere in the tropical, Indo-west-central Pacific. Inhabits burrows with thalassinid shrimps.

Size

Dorsal fin VI + 14-15; Anal fin 13-14; Pectoral fin 16-17.
Pelvic fins not united; scales completely absent on head and body; second dorsal and anal fins without spines; body depth 4.5-4.9 in SL.

Feeding

A highly specialised herbivore - feeds on seagrass.
