Features |
Dorsal fin 131-140; Anal fin 104-117; Vertebrae 71-74. Body elongate. compressed; dorsal fin originating on head above operculum. |

Similar Species |
Differs from other species of the genus in having a basibranchial tooth patch, the maxillary sheathed posteriodorsally, many flat spines posteriorly on the opercle, and five stiff projections on the rear margin of the preopercle. |
