Distribution

Northwest Shelf, Western Australia. Elsewhere the species occurs in the tropical  Indo-west-central Pacific.

Features

Dorsal fin VII, 9; Anal fin I, 8. 
Pelvic fins without a frenum; caudal fin broadly rounded.

Remarks

In Australia, this species has previously been called Lubricogobius pumilus.

Etymology

The specific name pumilus is from the Latin pumilus meaning dwarf.
