Summary:
A small secretive blenny with a dark brown to charcoal grey body, a pale greyish to yellow tail, and with or without pale lines and spots on the head and body.
Namiye's Combtooth Blenny usually props on corals and sponges, darting in to crevices and holes when disturbed.

Distribution |
Ashmore Reef in the Timor Sea. Elsewhere the species occurs in the tropical West Pacific: Malaysia and Indonesia east to the Philippines, New Ireland (Papua New Guinea) and the Solomon Islands, north to southern Japan. Inhabits estuaries to outer reef lagoons at depths to 30 m, although the species is commonly seen on shallow reef flats above 10m. |
