Summary:
A dark bluish longtom, with a silvery-white belly, 12-14 dark vertical bars along the sides, high falcate anterior lobes on the dorsal and anal fins, and an elevated black lobe on the rear of the dorsal fin.

Distribution

Recorded in Australia from Carnac Island, WA, around the north to Wollongong, NSW, also Lord Howe Island. Elsewhere, the species is circumglobal in tropical waters.
