Distribution

Recorded from Hibernia Reef in the Timor Sea. Small groups or individuals inhabit seaward reefs in areas of mixed sand, rubble, and coral, often in areas with Halimeda algae.

Biology

This is one of the many wrasse species that dives into the sand when threatened, and also sleeps there at night.
