Northeast of Moreton Island, Queensland, to east of Wooli, New South Wales. |

Biology |
Smallest known mature male, 34.9 cm TL; smallest post-natal juvenile, 8.3 cm TL. |

Fisheries |
Occasionally taken as bycatch (discarded) in trawl fisheries off eastern Australia. |
|
Etymology |
Thespecific name is from the Latin umbrosa (= shadow, shady) in reference to the uniform greyish coloration of the dorsal surface of the disc. |
