Summary:
A medium-sized greyish-brown skate with a greyish to brownish (often blotched ) underside, a pale snout tip, a blackish dorsal fin, pale caudal fin and small conspicuous black-edged sensory pores (not surrounded by a dusky blotch).
This rare deepwater skate has a very long pointed snout, a usually 1-2 nuchal thorns, and a malar thorn patch in adult males.

Biology |
Almost nothing is known about the biology and ecology of this species. Juvenile males ranged between 29.2-35.5 cm TL, and no adolescent males were caught. |

The species is named queenslandicus for the regional geographical range of this species - Queensland. |
