Summary:

A medium-sized greyish-brown skate with a greyish to brownish (often blotched ) underside, a pale snout tip, a blackish dorsal fin, pale caudal fin and small conspicuous black-edged sensory pores (not surrounded by a dusky blotch).
This rare deepwater skate has a very long pointed snout, a usually 1-2 nuchal thorns, and a malar thorn patch in adult males.

Distribution	Near Saumarez Reef, Saumarez Plateau, Coral Sea, Queensland.
Biology	Almost nothing is known about the biology and ecology of this species. Juvenile males ranged between 29.2-35.5 cm TL, and no adolescent males were caught.
Etymology	The species is named queenslandicus for the regional geographical range of this species - Queensland.
