Distribution |
Off far north Queensland, to off south-east Tasmania, and off Perth to off Exmouth, Western Australia. Elsewhere the species is circumglobal at temperate latitudes and is common throughout its range. Occurs at depths of 375-750 m during the day, migrating to above 125 m at night. |
Biology |
The maximum recorded life span for this species is one year, and breeding is assumed to occur only once during the lifespan. |
