Distribution |
Coral Sea off Queensland and off New South Wales, to the Great Australian Bight, South Australia, including around Tasmania to the South Tasman Rise; also the Lord Howe Rise and Norfolk Ridge in the Tasman Sea. Elsewhere the species is circumglobal, mostly at temperate latitudes. |

Female Triplewart Seadevils have bacterial bioluminscence, with luminous bacteria in the lure or esca producing the light. |
