Summary:
A pale greyish dogfish tinged with bronze, with white ventral surfaces, dusky to blackish tips on the dorsal fins, a distinct white posterior margin on the caudal fin with no dark bar at the fork of the fin, and robust dorsal-fin spines.

Distribution

North West Cape to off Rowley Shoals, Western Australia, and the Huon Gulf and Bismarck Sea, Papua New Guinea.

Features

Snout short, bluntly pointed in ventral view; caudal fin with no terminal lobe;  very broad based spines in front of dorsal fins; first dorsal fin slightly raked back; upper and lower jaw teeth similar in size and shape.

Biology

A viviparous species, with yolk-sac dependency. Males mature at about 45 cm TL.
