Distribution |
Known from tropical Australia and Indonesia. In Australian waters, Hutchins' Anglerfish has been recorded from Enderby Island, Dampier Archipelago, Western Australia, to the Gulf of Carpentaria, Queensland. The species has been collected from inshore sandy, muddy and seagrass habitats, including trawl grounds, at 2-10 m. |

Fisheries |
Although these rare anglerfishes are of no interest to fisheries, they have been taken as incidental bycatch in commercial prawn fisheries. |
