Summary:
A  pale grey to greenish or brownish anglerfish, usually with other dark markings, often well-developed skin filaments, and long dorsal, anal and caudal fin rays.

Distribution

Found in coastal waters of northern Australia, from the Houtman Abrolhos, Western Australia, to Hervey Bay, Queensland. Elsewhere, the species occurs in Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. Inhabits inshore waters, often sheltering amongst algae and rubble.

Taken as bycatch in commercial trawls.
