Distribution

Eastern Victoria to Geraldton, Western Australia.

Feeding

Feed on crustaceans, including amphipods, decapods, mysids and copepods. Juveniles consume mostly copepods.

Sillago bassensis Cuvier, in Cuvier & Valenciennes 1829, Histoire Naturelle des Poissons 3: 412. Type locality: Western Port, Bass Strait, Victoria (as Port Western).
