Distribution

Off northern and northwestern Australia, Northwest Shelf, Western Australia, to south of Ashmore Reef, Timor Sea. Elsewhere the species occurs south of New Guinea.

Remarks

Previously identified as Minous coccineus in Australia (Gloerfelt-Tarp & Kailola 1984; Sainsbury et al. 1985).
