Distribution

Northern New South Wales, around southern Australia, to Spencer Gulf, South Australia, including around Tasmania. Inhabits seagrass and macroalgal beds in shallow sheltered bays, often in the intertidal region.

Etymology

The specific name paripinnis is from the Latin parvus (= short) and pinnis (= fin).

Diplocrepis parvipinnis Waite 1906, Records of the Australian Museum 6(3): 202, pl. 36(3). Type locality: Long Bay, Sydney, New South Wales.
