Summary:
This small cryptic dottyback is rarely seen. It varies in colour from uniform yellow to brown, with a pinkish snout and yellow caudal fin in brown individuals.

Distribution |
Scott Reef, Western Australia, and the northern Great Barrier Reef to the Capricorn Group, Queensland. Elsewhere the species occurs in the tropical east-Indo-west Pacific. Inhabits crevices, boulder and rubble areas on inshore coral reef slopes to 30 m. |
