Distribution

Off central New South Wales, to off Bunbury, Western Australia. Elsewhere the species is circumglobal in subtropical and temperate waters of the southern hemisphere, and also occurs in the North Atlantic and Mediterranean Sea.

Feeding

Feeds mostly on mesopelagic fishes and some crustaceans.
