Summary:
A brown sole with irregular whitish lines and spots, and three rows of large black blotches or ocelli along the midline, and along the dorsal and ventral sides of the body.

Distribution

Escape River, north Queensland. Elsewhere the species occurs in the west Pacific - Indonesia and the Philippines. Inhabits sandy bottoms and slopes in sheltered bays and estuaries.

Dorsal fin 88-101; Anal fin 61-65; all dorsal and anal rays unbranched; Pectoral fins absent; Pelvic fin 5; Lateral line (eyed-side) 97-102.
