Summary:
A variable red, tan and whitish dragonet, with a tall vertically striped dorsal fin and  a pattern of white spots on the lower sides and fine blue spots on the head, pectoral and anal fins.

Distribution

Shark Bay to the Monte Bello Islands, Western Australia, and the northern Great Barrier Reef and reefs in the Coral Sea, Queensland. Elsewhere the species occurs in the tropical, west-central Pacific.
