Summary:
A brown moray with a black patch surrounding and behind the eye, white spots surrounding the sensory pores along the upper and lower jaws and around the posterior nostril, and an orange margin on the fins.

Distribution |
Recorded from Australian territories of Christmas Island and Cocos (Keeling) Island in the Indian Ocean. Elsewhere the species mostly occurs on oceanic islands in the Indo-west-central Pacific. Inhabits surge channels of wave-swept seaward reefs. |
