Summary:
A brownish stargazer with many yellowish-white blotches, a black spinous dorsal fin, reddish-brown pectoral, anal and second dorsal fins, caudal fin dark olive-green, and a pale pink pelvic fin.

Distribution

Recorded in the Australian EEZ from the Tasman Sea, east of Norfolk Island. The species occurs elsewhere in the west-Pacific.

Dorsal fin IV-V + 13-14; Anal fin 13-14. 

Remarks

Until the study of the family Uranoscopidae by Vilasri (2013), this species was known as Selenoscopus turbisquamatus.
