Distribution	Macquarie Islan. Elsewhere the species is common in littoral zone of all sub-Antarctic islands. Inhabits shallow rocky areas, usually under rocks, in 0-5 m.
Feeding	Feeds on amphipods, mainly Gondogeneia antarctica.
Biology	The species devotes a lot of time to parental care, and there is a long pelagic larval phase.
Species Citation	Harpagifer bispinis antarcticus Nybelin 1947, Scientific Results of the Norwegian Antarctic Expeditions 1927-1928 2(26): 40, Pl. 4 (figs. 5-8). Type locality: South Sandwich Islands and Palmer Archipelago, Antarctica.
