Greeneye Dogfish, Squalus notocaudatus Last, White & Stevens 2007
A Medium sized dogfish with a robust head and short snout. Pale grey-brown dorsal surface and white ventral surface. Similar to Squalus albifrons, differs from it in having a dark oblique bar through the base of the caudal fin and being paler on the dorsal surface.

Found off Queensland between Cairns and Rockhampton at depths of 220-450 m. Endemic to Australia. |
Features |
Medium sized dogfish with a robust head and a short snout. Upright dorsal fin with prominent and slender dorsal fin spines, first dorsal fin spine shorter than the second. Long deeply concaved pectoral fin, long caudal fin with a dark bar through the ventral lobe, upper caudal lobe without sub-terminal notch. |
