Distribution

Clare Marie Seamount, south of Christmas Island, AUS EEZ, depth 3100 m. Elsewhere the species occurs off Guam in the Mariana Islands.

Features

Holotype: Dorsal fin 104; Anal fin 82; Vertebrae 59. 
Lateral line short, ending below dorsal fin ray 10, and above vertebra number 12; scales in midline of body 175; distance between base of pelvic fins and anal fin origin 34.5% SL; two median basibranchial tooth patches, the anterior long and narrow; scale rows between origin of dorsal fin and lateral line 11.

Etymology

The species is named for H. J. Walker, Scripps Institute of Oceanography.
