A drowned reef 10 km north-west of Myrmidon Reef in the central Great Barrier Reef, and various localities with in the Coral Sea Marine Park, including Lihou Reef and the Willis Islets. |
Similar Species |
The species bears superficial resemblance to Chromis axillaris (Bennett 1831) and C. woodsi (Bruner and Arnam 1979) in having a mostly white, pearlescent body with black markings on the caudal peduncle but appears to differ from the latter two in the shape of the caudal peduncle marking. |
