Summary:
A striking dark green to brownish triggerfish with curved diagonal orange lines on the body, a band of narrow blue and orange stripes running from the mouth to below the pectoral fin, and a large black blotch surrounding the spines on the tail base.

Distribution

Recorded in Australia fromm Ningaloo Reef to Rob Roy Reef, Western Australia, also Rowley Shoals and Scott Reef, WA, Ashmore Reef, Timor Sea, and Raine Island to the Capricorn Group, Queensland; also the Australian territory of Christmas Island in the Indian Ocean. Found elsewhere in the tropical, Indo-west-central Pacific.
