Distribution

Houtman Abrolhos to off the Pilbara, Western Australia, and northeast of Cape Byron, to seamounts in the Tasman Sea east of Newcastle, New South Wales; also the Lord Howe Rise in the Tasman Sea. Elsewhere the species occurs in the tropical, Indo-west Pacific.
